Mandi Steele, Executive Director, joined the Sioux Falls Children’s Choir team Fall of 2018 with a vast background in business, education, music and community service. Mandi holds a Masters degree in Vocal Music Education from the University of South Dakota, and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Boise State University. Mandi founded the Vermillion Children’s Choir, which is currently in its fourth season.
Mandi is an avid performer, singing with the GRAMMY-nominated South Dakota Chorale, Transept, as well as other local musical groups. As a true believer in music’s positive impact on our children’s lives, Mandi organized a weekly music class for a school of special needs students in Nebraska, and as a private music instructor, has been teaching piano and voice for over twelve years. Mandi taught 5th-12th grade general and choral music in the Lennox School District. Mandi and her husband Jeremy live in Sioux Falls with their five children and two dogs. From working as a bookkeeper to starting her own small retail business, teaching in the music classroom, to performing, Mandi is thrilled to be bringing her experience and enthusiasm to the Sioux Falls Children’s Choir.
J.J. Gohl has been the accompanist for the Sioux Falls Children’s Choir from the choirs founding in 2015.
